Dr. Fraiman received his education at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and holds several certifications including Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. He is also a member of prominent associations, such as the such as the American Medical Association, Chesapeake Vascular Society, American College of Physician Executives, and The American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association.

Recognized for his excellence, at the age of 44 Dr. Fraiman rose to the positions of Chief of Hepatobolity Surgery. Dr. Fraiman completed his general surgery training at Saint Agnes Hospital and went on to complete additional fellowships in vascular surgery, immunology, hepatobiliary surgery, and liver transplantation. He has completed his M.B.A. at Johns Hopkins University. In Nov 2005 and in 2008, Dr. Fraiman was named one of the Top Doctors of Distinction by Baltimore Magazine.
Dr. Fraiman completed his specialized training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), which is one of the highest-volume centers for the treatment of complex hepatobiliary procedures and liver transplantation in the nation.
At the Lois & Michael Hodes Comprehensive Liver and Pancreas Center at St. Joseph, Mark Fraiman, M.D., F.A.C.S., leads a multidisciplinary team of physicians in gastroenterology, hepatology and interventional radiology to give patients more options and advantages than ever for the advanced treatment of hepatobiliary disease.
Dr. Fraiman is one of a few doctors in the area performing complex hepatobiliary procedures. Now, advanced treatments for diseases such as pancreatic cancer, primary liver cancer, metastatic colorectal cancer, and bile duct injuries and cancer are available in a convenient, community setting.
